We were happy to be joined by our friend Jesse L. Martin for the last two days of Camp...
On Saturday, everyone "got hype" before the big show...
The following five photos are by Chelsea. See more of her great camp photos here.
The last photo is of the staff and campers moments before leaving on Sunday morning. After such an amazing week, it was not easy saying goodbye! Everyone is already looking forward to next year.
Camp Our Time is available to young people who stutter, as well as their siblings. Camp Our Time's mission is to provide a fun, supportive, and beautiful environment where young people who stutter can express themselves in their own time and without the fear of being ridiculed. Camp Our Time also serves the important function of teaching their siblings who do not stutter how to better support their brothers and sisters. Throughout their stay at camp, everyone will have as much time as they need to speak. No one will be rushed, teased, put-down, or interrupted. Camp Ou Time is an environment where campers' voices and ideas are heard and validated.
"Over the years, the Our Time plays have continued to amaze me, with themes that eloquently speak to the passions and concerns of a diverse group of young people. Company members have the courage to speak from their hearts and their minds - irrespective of the fluency of their speech." --Gerrie Nachman, Our Time Parent
"Because of Our Time, I am WAY more outspoken, because I figure that I shouldn't be ashamed of stuttering. I mean, come on, I got a standing ovation for it. How many people my age can say they have done an Off-Broadway play, been interviewed for the New York Daily News and New York One, and actually do something on Saturdays?" --Corom Buksha, teen company, age 16
